  It's a Christmas miracle! The newest addition to the Scotia Square food court opened up today, 3 whole days early! Despite the very large custom-made vinyl sign that was advertising the opening date as Dec. 30th, I was surprised to see them open and taking peoples' money in return for food and beverage.
  
  I'm not an anti-fast-food person, and have definitely eaten my fair share of McNuggets, so I know what to expect at McDonald's. Today being the opening day, I had slightly higher hopes than usual because I figured they would try and impress the folks who normally grab their lunch at any of the finer/healthier stalls in the food court. I figured that if there was one day that a quarter-pounder might look even remotely close to what they advertise, it would likely be their first day.
  
  Nope. Silly me for expecting anything other than plain ol' McDonald's. I didn't take a picture of my food because I'm not one of those people, but I can assure you that the burger I received lives up to the 3am Quinpool drive-thru standards we have all come to know and shamelessly expect. I won't even fault the cashier for getting my order incorrect because I'm a quiet talker and didn't use the suggested 'Number system' for ordering my food. To say "Quarter-Pounder with Cheese meal" feels much more dignified then telling them to give me a "Number 2" (or whatever number it is). The mistake was rectified quickly and painlessly so no hard feelings.
  
  The burger I received had a layer of ketchup so thick that keeping my bun from falling off the burger was messier and more difficult than I would have preferred. The complimentary 2 napkins were not sufficient for wiping the ejected ketchup from my fingers. My regret for choosing to eat at McDonald's came just as swiftly as it normally does, even with the novelty of this potentially more-fresh-than-usual meal still lingering in my mind.
  
  Some will ask "What did you expect? It's McDonald's", and to that I would say "Can't we be optimistic?". For receiving a par McDonald's experience I will give them their allotted 3 stars.

  Where do I start? Its a McDonald's after all.However,it is the most poorly run McDonald's and food court kiosk I have ever been a patron to.Soda cups barely filled properly let alone filled at all.And how can you screw up a food order that was done on one of those automated kiosks....BUT THEY DO IT...And even if it a done properly,it's usually still cold or half-cooked anyway.
  Just a badly put together crew who do everything half-assed.....

  This has got to be one of the slowest McDonald's in the city. They have four automated machines to encourage you to do the job of a human. I pay cash so I can't use the machine. Three registers at the counter, but only one Clerk. 8 people in line. All I want is a coffee. Can somebody not come up from the back and help the one Clerk get caught up or is it just you don't care that people are waiting. Tim Hortons down the mall has 5 clerks working the registers. Take the hint. Bring in more staff.

  If I could give zero stars I would. Went there last night and placed an order, asked to have some extra sauce on my sandwich but was rudely told I can't add anything to my sandwich, only remove. Asked why that was and was told it's the policy of the restaurant.
  
  Never have I been told I can't customize my order!
